Emily Wolfarth is wearing a style of fur that included the heads, feet and tails of the animals popular at the turn of the century.

Ida Fox is shown with a fur collar; the head of the animal had a hinge at its jaw to clip to itself.
Pricilla Phillips (Rachael's Aunt Purty) owned the fur stole (circa 1950) that lies here with jewels from "Dot" Chapman's collection. The striped muff is an older fur (circa 1910) and it belonged to Frances Wolfarth, daughter of Emily and Frank Wolfarth.
This fur stole from mid-century shows a cleaner, elegant and shorter design. There are little pockets where the stole lay at the waist.
